Utah Public Safety Summit 2021 has ended

Commissioner Jess L. Anderson and the Utah Department of Public Safety (DPS) welcome you to the 2021 Utah Public Safety Summit.  This conference was designed with public safety professionals in mind and focuses on leadership, educational experiences, critical thinking opportunities and best practices.

Conference tracks include: Law Enforcement, Emergency Management, Forensics, Fire/EMS, School Safety, General Public Safety, and SIAC (Cyber Security).

Dewey G. Cornell, Ph.D. is the Virgil Ward Professor of Education in the School of Education and Human Development at the University of Virginia. Trained as a forensic clinical psychologist, Dr. Cornell worked extensively with violent offenders before collaborating with the FBI in their landmark study of school shootings. In 2001, he led the development of the Comprehensive School Threat Assessment Guidelines, which is supported by 20 years of research and is now widely used nationwide. For the past several years he has worked with the Utah State Board of Education to bring threat assessment to Utah schools.
